What it looks like

The Bergamot orange tree is a small tree, perfect for growing in a pot or greenhouse. At full maturity, it will reach between 10 and 16 feet. With beautiful evergreen foliage, it is known for its strong aroma produced not only by the flowers but also by the leaves and fruit. The tree blooms with white flowers between November and January, making it a striking sight during the winter months.

Traditional Uses

Bergamot oil is traditionally used as a mood lifter and as an antiseptic. Flavouring Earl Grey Tea

Why it works

The oil has sedative and calming properties, in conjunction with the uplifting aroma, it may help in alleviating the depression. And is a very good antibacterial agent.

This is a Makrut Lime - NOT bergamot

This is not Bergamot

This fruit is a Makrut Lime, it is delicious, unlike the Bergamot which has a taste that is not as bitter as a Lemon but more bitter than a Grapefruit.
Perhaps the reason why the Makrut Lime is confused with the Bergamot is because the word Makrut translates in Thai as Bergamot.. But only in Thailand
