Vetiver is a topical grass with fragrant leaves and root and is grown is several Southeast Asia countries. The whole plant can be used, but it is mostly recognised as an Essential Oil in the western world, however the dried roots are also available too.

Vetiver oil (most commonly used) for its grounding effect, as it has a calming effect on the emotions. Its also used to relieve itchy skin, and has. soothing affect of aching joints.
from Its roots a decotion is made to sooth fevers and as an insect repellent . Its also used in some contries for headaches, arthritis and rheumatism.
